A Bibliometric Analysis of Geometry Education Research Based on Web of Science Core Collection Database

Geometry has an important place in mathematics education because it forms the basis of mathematical thinking and allows us to see emergence logical theory. As all fields, academic journals, which are among official communication languages science, play role construction, dissemination use scientific knowledge field geometry teaching. With reference this fact, aim study was examine articles published teaching indexed SSCI (1975-2020) ESCI (2015-2020) Web Science Core Collection database by bibliometric analysis method. 109 related (72 within scope 37 ESCI) were reached for given periods. According findings research, while there been a recent interest ESCI, number still is limited. Therefore, teaching, lags behind areas such as arithmetic algebra. Especially years, noted that keyword “Van Hiele Levels” keywords innovations technology brings “Dynamic Geometry”, “Virtual Reality”, “Geogebra” “Geometry Thinking” frequently used It observed that, quantitative research methods widely preferred studies qualitative ESCI.
